MUTEK.JP, a celebration of digital art and electronic music, held in November 2017 at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Tokyo. One of the festival’s shows was a live performance held by Kazuya Nagaya and Metametric.

The live performance is performed with four rows of orin, a Buddhist tool, arranged in a circle, with the two sitting in the center facing each other. We placed thirteen spherical Kinetic Lights in a circle to create a stage installation that became one with the instruments. The speakers are also arranged in a half-circle on the same line as the Kinetic Lights system, inspired by an imagery of ripples spreading from the center outward.

仏具のひとつであるおりんを円形に4列並べ、中央に両者が向かい合い座って演奏するライブ。私たちはそこに13個の球体のキネティック・ライツ・システムを円形に配置し、楽器と一体となる演出を行いました。また、スピーカーもキネティック・ライツ・システムと同じライン上に半円となるよう配置。中央から外側に向かい波紋が広がる様をイメージしています。
